Cookie Policy

1. Overview

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies, Local Storage and Session Storage technologies we use on Letzdine and on connected restaurant websites based on Letzdine.

Cookies are small data records stored in your browser or on your device and later read again. Comparable technologies include Local Storage, Session Storage, pixel tags, SDKs or technical identifiers.

We use technically necessary storage so that the platform works. Analytics and marketing technologies are only used if you have consented through our consent banner.

2. Legal Bases

Storing information on your device or accessing information already stored there is governed by Section 25 of the German TDDDG. Technically strictly necessary storage is permitted under Section 25(2) TDDDG. All other storage or access only takes place with your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG.

Where personal data is processed through cookies or comparable technologies, the legal bases of the GDPR also apply. Technically necessary processing is generally based on Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Analytics and marketing are based, where required, on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

5. Local Storage and Session Storage

In addition to cookies, we may use Local Storage and Session Storage. These technologies store information directly in the browser. Session Storage is usually deleted when the browser tab is closed. Local Storage remains until it is deleted or overwritten.

Technically necessary local storage may store in particular language, address entries, reservation date, reservation time, weekly menu selection, filters, theme settings, form states or UI status.

After your analytics consent, the following keys may also be used:

  • letzdine_tracking_visitor: pseudonymous visitor identifier.
  • letzdine_tracking_session: pseudonymous session identifier.
  • letzdine_tracking_entry: entry, referrer and campaign context of the session.
  • letzdine_tracking_session_search: pseudonymous search and result contexts within a session.

6. Analytics

If you consent to the Analytics category, we may use internal analytics and Google Analytics where these services are activated. Data processed may include in particular page views, clicks, scroll depth, time on site, search context, restaurant IDs, order mode, referrer, campaign parameters, browser, device type, language, time zone, pseudonymous visitor identifier and shortened or anonymised IP address.

We use this data to improve Letzdine technically and editorially, identify errors and drop-offs, optimise restaurant search and evaluate platform use in aggregated form.

The legal bases are your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings.

7. Marketing and Retargeting

If you consent to the Marketing category, Google Ads and Meta Pixel may be used where these services are activated. This allows campaign measurement, audience creation, ad optimisation and retargeting on Google, Meta or partner platforms.

Data processed may include in particular page views, clicks, conversion events, campaign parameters, browser and device information, pseudonymous identifiers, IP address and technical event data. Google and Meta may also process data as independent controllers.

The legal bases are your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings.

8. Third Parties, Maps, Security and Payments

When using certain features, third parties may use their own cookies or comparable technologies. These include in particular Google Maps and Google Places for address and location functions, Google reCAPTCHA for protection against abuse and payment service providers such as Stripe or PayPal for online payments.

These providers may use their own privacy information and retention periods. Depending on the feature, such processing is based on contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations or your consent.

When you use payment pages, map functions or security checks, the feature may not be available, or only available in a limited way, without certain cookies or comparable technologies.

9. Changing or Withdrawing Consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Use the Cookie Settings link in the footer or the button at the beginning of this Cookie Policy.

If you withdraw consent, non-essential analytics and marketing technologies will no longer be activated. The lawfulness of processing before withdrawal remains unaffected.

10. Browser Settings

You can also delete, block or restrict cookies and local storage through your browser. Depending on the browser, you will find these settings under privacy, security, website data or cookies.

If you block cookies completely, functions such as login, cart, language settings, reservation or payment processing may be limited.

11. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if technologies, providers, purposes, legal requirements or guidance from authorities change. In case of material changes, we may ask you for your choice again.
